It’s been the first year without proper restrictions and we’ve enjoyed being open as much as we can. We’ve taken some time to reflect and we wanted to thank everyone who’s been involved over 2022! The Candlestickmakers! The Bakers! The Butchers[we don’t stock any]!

As always we’ve been dealing out some of the best specialty coffee in Glasgow with handpicked vintage; oh! and with a curated selection of products and clothes from some of the top independent labels and brands in the U.K and further. We were featured in 91 magazine and we got some gorgeous Bam shots for it by Studio Gently, which was nice. It made us blush. Otherwise here’s a whistle stop tour of some brilliant bakers and roasters from the past year! We love a treat, so you can have a treat!

We’re back to it this year with our series of thoughtful, caring giftboxes all arranged and organised so you don’t have to do a single thing, except buy it. They’re themed for those who need it, to relax, to perk up, to refresh. Including some of the best independent producers and designers. Each gift box comes beautifully packaged in a box with tissue paper. You can also have it wrapped in a silky scarf for comfort and touch. These boxes are available online, but are collection only for the last minute christmas gifts; they’re always important. We will also include a handwritten message to your loved one with the gift set, just fill in the form when you checkout and we’ll pass on the love, love!

‘tis the season and wasn’t there the first frost on Queen’s Park yesterday? Yes there was. So now we need to be well prepared with tasty coffee in our hands, our gloved hands, that is, and we need to have gift ideas in our heads, our hatted heads? Hmm that doesn’t really work, anyway we need to carry the warmth in our hearts, our jumpered hearts. No that doesn’t work either. What we’re trying to say is wrap up warm and keep these mittens hot! We’ve worked out some ways to get the best independent businesses to you for the colder days and we’ve featured some here for ye, but there’s always loads more in our shop!

That’s right, you know it already: we sell stunning handpicked vintage and we serve up some of the best coffee in Glasgow, all thanks to our rotating hopper of the best roasters ;) but what we also do is celebrate Scottish independent artists, makers and brands. We’re filling our stockings (we mean our shelves) ready for the most thoughtful Christmas gifts on Glasgow’s Southside. More about that another time, first up, we are celebrating some of Glasgow’s most beautiful jewellers.

When you pop in to trick or treat us this halloween, we’ll only have treats for you. We are not interested in tricks; all our time goes into treats and vintage and the best halloween costumes. We were wondering what to chat about after watching The Craft, oooooh, for the first time in a spooky while. It’s been a pretty October until all the cobwebs appeared, we’ve been charging on with great coffee and redefining our identity as a witchy Glasgow vintage shop by casting spells on you when you come in, and nobody’s noticed so far! We whisper: “Now is the time, this is the hour, ours is the magic, ours is the power” :P Then you leave and we hope you come back. To try and keep you under the spell here’s some gift ideas for halloween and further, like Christmas gifts or birthday gifts, or just gifts for everyday of the year!

It’s the run up to one of our favourite times of the year; you know what it is, if you don’t then you’ll know v v soon! Anyway, recently we’ve been thinking about favourites and how all the things we have in stock are well quite simply our favourites and that’s why we’ve got them in here for you. That’s how we tick. We wake up and then look for our favourites so that you can wake up and then find your own favourites from the favourites we’ve found. It’s all a real treat frankly. We’ve got so many so here’s just a few for the moment until we calm down again and bring you some more.

The summer had sun! The Solstice passed in its shimmering light; Welcome Cancer, Leo, Virgo seasons; The Boss even managed a trip to Italy?! When the sun’s been out between the clouds, we’ve slung out our summer drinks: our iced ginger lemonade is a mouthy treatment for these occasional hot days. This means we’ve pushed out a 50% discount rail onto the street with some stunning dresses and other garments that we just have to say goodbye to cos’ our stockroom is a busy place and there’s only so much beauty we can handle! The rest is up to you, all garms must go go go, so come down and snatch them away from us while they’re out there in the sun.

It’s here , it’s summer…

and endless, bright nights bring endless, bright nights with ice cream in the park. You know which ice-cream. Although we know it’s never time, in this city, to have our dinky duckumbrella not tucked under our wings; they’ll still be with us. We’ll be serving up our summer drinks again, so keep your eyes and mouths ready for them as we get the ice nice and frozen. Our online shop is filling up and up so you can browse it from bed, the sofa, the kitchen or also, yes, that park with the ice-cream—though you should just come by, we’re always so thrilled to have you all around :] We’ve taken a break from the newsletter to focus on our online store but we are ready oh so ready, so read on for some more beautiful things we’ve in stock!

Recently, we’ve maxxed our chai game, so we’re now using Yogi-Yogi chai from Glasgow’s mainstay tea-institute Tchai Ovna; this, in tandem with our winter drinks, all makes for a warming, festive month to come. All made possible by our new gommes from William Fox. What’ve we got? We’ve got Gingerbread and Cinnamon for Lattes–do you also wonder if there’s a baby somewhere called Latté? –and what’s more, we’re doing a Bounty Hot Chocolate, also with coconut milk, just to double up; and the shining heart-warmer our Campfire Hot Chocolate: with 70% dark chocolate, smokey hickory gomme, your choice of milk and FINALLY torched marshmallow. whoah. yes torched marshmallow from fluffy clouds in a jar. where dreams go to be drunk. What’s love , but a second-hand emotion?

“We’re back! Well ‘back’ since April, when we reopened, and everything was going great, really great, you were all coming to visit and having coffee, gifting people things, we like gifts, it was all getting sunnier and the summer was beautiful, warm and you sat outside with iced drinks and collected Peacock’s Ice cream, ate our Bampots* a delight, and then August came and we were happy, settled, in our lane, until the flash flood in August which scuppered our vibes, frankly.

OK wow it’s been a thing. A real thing. But now we’ve got a blog, so we can chat to you or maybe at you, but somehow together? Halloween is over. Anyway, we’re trying to keep in touch, to keep you up-to-date with all things BAM and Beautiful. Bonfire night is over. We have loved seeing everyone again since reopening and the continued support for local businesses is so encouraging, especially now. We’re glad to still be with you since all summer’s glamorous threads have faded into faux fur, incandescent street lights, and pulling your collar up before bracing the outdoors, but for the moment, the stormy weekends have lifted what looks like all of the last leaves from the trees.
