How to wrap up warm this winter

‘tis the season and wasn’t there the first frost on Queen’s Park yesterday? Yes there was. So now we need to be well prepared with tasty coffee in our hands, our gloved hands, that is, and we need to have gift ideas in our heads, our hatted heads? Hmm that doesn’t really work, anyway we need to carry the warmth in our hearts, our jumpered hearts. No that doesn’t work either. What we’re trying to say is wrap up warm and keep these mittens hot! We’ve worked out some ways to get the best independent businesses to you for the colder days and we’ve featured some here for ye, but there’s always loads more in our shop!

Misspompom hats and scarves!

More misspompom is here! Much like the original duckheads when we see products from misspompom the first thing we think and feel is COLOUR and well yeah MEMPHIS. Their reversible printed scarves are a hit and very loveable. Of course organic cotton, GOTS certified, is used to produce all their products: jumpsuits, trousers, scarves, gloves and our current favourites HATS. Look at them! They smile, we smile, we all smile. The seventies inflected smiley hats give us the perfect creeps and their colour combos pop pop pop to brighten darker Glasgow days. We’ve got dots and geometry to play with too, to keep our heads warm. They’re the real memphis dedication of colour blocking and angles and are visible for miles over the horizon.

Original Duckhead Umbrellas

These popular beauties are back in stock, online and in our shop. The original duckhead umbrellas are the cutest way to keep dry, in fact some people say they charm the rain away from you with their cuteness, instead of just being waterproof like all the other umbrellas. The canopies of these ones are made from nine plastic bottles, so are fully recycled from post-consumer waste. The materials called rPET, if that’s your bag, and is essentially polyester but’s produced from waste plastics. The frames are a combo of steel and aluminium and are described as ‘wind-proof’ which for once we believe! The handles are from sustainable Birch, also a v popular tree in the U.K, so they don’t have to source that far. Original Duckhead supply us with uplifting and eco-friendly products and their umbrellas are always a talking point in our southside vintage shop.

Our new winter jumpers!

After our recent stock trip we are fully stocked! So we’ve got another part of the body covered with these warming, cheering jumpers. They’re in stock at our vintage shop just now, but will soon be available on our online vintage shop too. It’s always a lot: travelling and trawling through the tonnes, actual tonnes, of clothing on offer, but everything we do, we do for you. There’s some gor-gee-oh-so chord trousers we’ve uncovered, some be-you-ti-ful wooly cardigans in stock now and the highlights of the season, jumpers, wooly Christmas jumpers!

Otherwise we’ve been prepping for Christmas and be sure to pop in for your fill of specialty coffee and independent vintage! Same place, Nithsdale Road, Strathbungo, every day ‘cept Tuesdays, 11-6!
